6:1 child-to-educator ratio, our March Break camp offers an immersive outdoor experience rooted in nature connection, teamwork, creative exploration, hands-on STEM learning and fun!

A Day in the Life at Sunhouse Academy | 9am–3pm

Morning Walk & Nature Connection

We begin each day with a mindful, energizing walk about two-thirds around the lake. This daily routine helps all ages reset, regulate, and ground themselves before jumping into the day’s adventures.
Older campers often take on leadership roles by helping read trail maps, organizing mini challenges, or support walking with younger peers.
Along the way, children use themed scavenger hunt cards (ranging in difficulty) to engage observation, curiosity, and teamwork.

Shared Meal Times

We eat together twice a day: once mid-morning and once early afternoon. These group meals are more than just snack time; they're a chance for children to connect, tell stories, laugh, and build a sense of community. Educators take this time to read to the children so that they can eat and digest in a calm state. 

Weekly STEM Explorations

Each week includes hands-on STEM activities such as kite making & wind science, mini shelter building challenges, nature-based experiments and simple engineering tasks using natural materials. These activities are designed to spark curiosity and build critical thinking.

Child-Led Play & Exploration

Every day includes generous time for free, child-led play, an essential part of outdoor learning. Children might climb trees, explore forested areas, skip rocks, invent group games, craft with natural materials, or dive into collaborative mud-kitchen creations at the beach.
Educators stay close and engaged, observing play, facilitating social-emotional learning, and offering guidance when needed.

Important Information: This Seasonal Outdoor Camp is designed for children ages 4-7 who are able to stay within sight of the group and ready to engage safely and independently in an outdoor environment. With our 6:1 child-to-educator ratio, we ensure personalized attention and safety. Please note that our camps do not run on statutory holidays.
