Sunhouse Outdoor Academy
Summer Semester: July
Summer Semester: July
July 2nd - July 31st
Empowering children with foundational life skills through engaging, hands-on experiences that build confidence, independence, and problem-solving abilities.
Basic First Aid |
Teaching children age-appropriate skills like how to apply a bandage, clean a scrape, and identify when to ask for help. Through playful scenarios, they’ll gain a sense of responsibility for their well-being and others’. |
Camping Safety Scenarios |
Guiding children in understanding outdoor safety through fun, interactive lessons. Topics include recognizing safe boundaries, what to do if lost, and making safe choices in a camping environment. |
Creating a Personal Survival Bag |
Each child will design and assemble a "survival bag" — a cloth bag they decorate and use to collect tools and items throughout the month, such as a small flashlight, bandages, and a whistle. These items reinforce practical learning and a sense of preparedness. |
Skill Building Through Play |
Activities like knot-tying, identifying safe plants, and role-playing outdoor challenges encourage children to problem-solve and collaborate in fun and creative ways, fostering resilience and adaptability. |
Each semester and program is thoughtfully designed to align with the rhythms of nature and the emotional, social, and cognitive development of children. Our holistic approach ensures that your child is nurtured, empowered, and ready to thrive.
Important Information: Sunhouse Outdoor Academy programs are designed for children aged 3 to 5 years who are potty-trained, able to stay within sight of the group, and ready to engage safely in an outdoor environment.
